This safari is for individuals who wish to "experience" the true desert life! Experience desert delights such as dune bashing, camel riding, a barbecue meal, and dance shows, and, most importantly, spend the night in a traditional Bedouin tent with a sunrise camel journey and breakfast.
You will be picked up from your hotel in a luxurious 4WD Land Cruiser and driven for approximately 60 minutes to the Lahbab desert. When you arrive in the desert, you will enjoy a 20-minute rest before beginning your safari.
You have the option of relaxing here or going for a quad-bike ride while your vehicle for the off-road dune trip is being readied.
You will next go on a 30-45-minute dune-bashing excursion, during which you will experience strange excitement as your Land Cruiser climbs up and slides down the sand dunes.
After that, you can try your hand at the adventure sport of sandboarding. Stand on the provided wooden board, balance yourself, then glide down the sands.
After sandboarding, you'll go to Al Khayma, a Bedouin-style campsite, where you'll be led to your own tent (Khayma) within the camp. As soon as you arrive, you will be greeted with Gahwa (Arabic coffee), Gaymat (sweets), and dates.
You will next go on a camel ride around the campgrounds, and depending on the time and luck, you may be able to see the sunset over the desert. Back at Al Khayma Camp, you can spend your time smoking shisha and getting your henna painted.
You can dress up in traditional Arabian attire and pose for photos with a falcon, and a Tanoura dance will be performed on the camp's main stage. You will shortly be invited to a spectacular buffet meal featuring barbeque foods, while a belly dancer will keep you entertained on stage.
Following supper, you will be transported by camel to a neighboring camp location where a fire will be prepared for you. You will next be shown how to make Arabic coffee/tea while relaxing by the campfire in the evening, taking in the solitude of the desert and the black sky above.
Your desert guide will add to the enjoyment by telling you intriguing desert stories, and when it's time to sleep, you'll return to camp. Return to your tent for a restful night's sleep atop a Nawar bed (Bedouin-style bed), equipped with a pillow and blanket.
Wake up 15 minutes before sunrise the next morning to take in the breathtaking vista. Your guide will accompany you to the desert on a camel caravan that will be waiting outside the tent.
You will go camel trekking for around 15-20 minutes, capturing a beautiful sunrise over the sand dunes. You will return to your tent after camel trekking and eat a freshly prepared Arabian breakfast. You will then be taken back to Dubai and dropped off at your hotel.
