From November 12 through 20, Alserkal Art Week will be held on Alserkal Avenue once more, this time with a glittering celestial theme.
There will be a wide range of contemporary art exhibitions, projects, talks, performances, food trucks, and more during the nine-day-long art and cultural event, so there is something for everyone.
Visit the Mosque of Light
When: November 12 at 10 a.m.
Location: The Mosque of Light of Sumaya Dabbagh
A visit to the first mosque in the United Arab Emirates created by a woman architect was part of Alserkal Art Week. From bustling Al Quoz, you’ll go on the Sumaya Dabbagh’s “Mosque of Light” trip to a peaceful haven: the beautifully constructed modern mosque.
The mosque’s peaceful atmosphere in the artistic neighborhood of Al Quoz is a result of Dabbagh’s design approach. Please be aware that you are expected to dress modestly as a sign of respect for the place of worship.
Tour of The Follower
When: November 12 and 14 from 5 to 6 p.m.
Location: Tour begins at The Yard
Numerous new site-specific commissions by Fahd Burki (Grey Noise), Ala’ Ebtekar, and Sahand Hesamiyan can be found on Alserkal Avenue. The idea is known as “The Follower,” and it promotes careful observation of the wind, the sun, and the sky as a means of navigating and retrieving cultural knowledge.

Check out Alserkal Lates
When: November 14 from 4.30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Location: Alserkal Avenue
Alserkal Lates, a component of Alserkal Art Week, is packed with exhibitions of modern art, lectures, and other events. The theme will serve as a helpful reminder that everything eventually overlaps and that there are ecosystems within ecosystems.
A variety of food trucks, including 1004 Gourmet, Moreish, Ugly Dumplings, Akiba Slice, Here-o Donuts, and others, will be at the location. You must register even though entry is free.
Week of Alserkal Art
When: November 14 from 8 to 9 or 10 to 11 p.m.
Location: Tour begins at The Yard
Choose this Slow Art Walk instead of quickly making your way through the galleries on Alserkal Avenue.
Here, you can interact with the artwork and embark on the trip that the artist meant for you to take.
There are two guided walks available to you, the first led by Asavari Sehgal from 8 to 9 p.m., and the second by Daniel H. Rey from 9 to 10 p.m.
